Publication Policies

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content based on the principle that making research freely available to the public promotes a broader global exchange of knowledge. Authors and copyright owners grant free access to all users for the articles published in Radiology and Molecular Imaging.

The Open Access Policy is based on the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). By “open access” to peer-reviewed research literature, we mean its free availability on the public internet. This allows any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles. Users can crawl websites for indexing, pass the data to software, or utilize them for any lawful purpose, without facing financial, legal, or technical barriers apart from those inherent in accessing the internet.

All published content is available online, free of charge at www.radamol.com. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND) International License.

Licenses and Copyright Policy

Authors publishing with the journal retain the copyright to their work licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International license (CC BY-NC 4.0) and grant the Publisher non-exclusive commercial rights to publish the work. CC BY-NC 4.0 license permits unrestricted, non-commercial use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

Digital Archiving Policy

Digital preservation encompasses a series of processes and activities aimed at ensuring the long-term, continuous access to information stored in digital formats. All electronic content (websites, manuscripts, etc.) is stored in three different sources. Content on a server is online and accessible to readers. A copy of the same content is stored as a backup on other servers. Should a server fail, other resources can be brought online, and the website is expected to be available within 24 to 36 hours.

Author Self-Archiving Policy

Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their articles on personal and institutional websites after publication, provided that they include full bibliographic details and a link to the original publication.

Authorship Policy

Each individual listed as an author should meet the authorship criteria recommended by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). The ICMJE recommends that authorship should be based on the following four criteria:

Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work, or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; and

Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content; and

The author agrees to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that any questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

Authors should not only be accountable for their own work but also have confidence in the integrity of their co-authors' contributions. Each author should be able to identify the specific responsibilities of their co-authors for different parts of the work.

All individuals identified as authors must fulfill all four criteria for authorship, and anyone meeting these criteria should be acknowledged as authors. Those who provided a contribution but do not meet all four criteria should be recognized separately on the title page and in the Acknowledgements section at the conclusion of the manuscript.

Rad & Mol Image requires corresponding authors to submit a signed and scanned version of the authorship contribution form (available for download) during the initial submission process. This is necessary to properly indicate and uphold authorship rights and to prevent ghost or honorary authorship. Please note that the list of authors on the final manuscript will be presented in the order provided on this form. If the editorial board suspects a case of "gift authorship," the submission will be rejected without further review. As part of the manuscript submission process, the corresponding author should also provide a brief statement declaring their acceptance of full responsibility for authorship during the submission and review stages of the manuscript.

Complaint and Appeal Policy

Appeal and complaint cases are handled within the scope of COPE guidelines by the Editorial Board of the journal. Appeals should be based on the scientific content of the manuscript. The final decision on the appeal and complaint is made by the Editor-in-Chief. An ombudsperson or an ethical editor is assigned to resolve cases that cannot be resolved internally. Authors should contact the Editor-in-Chief regarding their appeals and complaints via email at editor@radamol.com.

Plagiarism Policy

All submissions undergo screening with similarity detection software at least twice: upon submission and after revisions are completed. In the event of alleged or suspected research misconduct, such as plagiarism, citation manipulation, or data falsification/fabrication, the editorial board will adhere to and act in accordance with COPE guidelines. Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, identified at any stage will result in rejection of the manuscript.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Content Policy
We do not allow content that promotes, links to, or provides instructions for creating new or existing AI technologies for illegal or unethical purposes (such as illegal hacking, generation of non-consensual or explicit images, exploitation of AI characters, etc). We do not allow the use of AI tools to rephrase, summarize, remix, or otherwise modify existing content in a manner that results in a derivative work which closely resembles the original content in concept, structure, or essential elements. This is a violation of our Plagiarism Guidelines.

Publication Charges Policy

Rad & Mol Image does not charge any submission fees, publication fees, or page charges.

Retraction Policy

The journal will take all necessary steps to revise the article in question, in close collaboration with the editors, in instances of alleged or confirmed scientific misconduct, fraudulent publication, or plagiarism. This includes the prompt publication of an erratum, disclosure, or retraction of the affected work in the most severe case. Together with the editors, the publisher will take reasonable steps to detect and prevent the publication of articles in which research misconduct occurs and will, under no circumstances, promote or knowingly allow such abuse to occur.

Withdrawal Policy

Rad & Mol Image is committed to providing high-quality articles and upholding publication ethics to advance the intellectual agenda of science. Withdrawal of a manuscript will be permitted only for the most compelling and unavoidable reasons. For the withdrawal of a manuscript, authors need to submit an "Article Withdrawal Form" signed by all authors, stating the reason for withdrawal, to the Editorial Office. The form is available on the journal's webpage. Authors must not assume that their manuscript has been withdrawn until they have received appropriate notification from the editorial office. In cases where a manuscript has been under review for more than six months, the author is allowed to withdraw the manuscript.

Manuscript withdrawal penalty: After receiving the Article Withdrawal Form, the Rad & Mol Image Editorial Board will investigate the reason for withdrawal. If the reason is found to be acceptable, the author is allowed to withdraw the manuscript without paying any withdrawal penalty. If the Rad & Mol Image does not accept a manuscript, it will not consider any submissions from the same author for one year.

Important Notes: Manuscripts may be withdrawn at any stage of the review and publication process by submitting a request to the editorial office. Manuscript withdrawal will be permitted after submission only for the most compelling and unavoidable reasons.
